The next Annual General Meeting will be held at the clubhouse on Sunday, 24th January, 2010, 4.00 p.m.
The AGM is always an important meeting as it gives all members an opportunity to contribute in the direction of the club and to have a choice in the election of officers to serve for the ensuing year. I urge you all to do your very best to join us on this day, or to make your views on any issue, known to the Committee beforehand.
Knoll Lawn Tennis Club is set in very pleasant grounds in the heart of the Knoll area of Orpington and Petts Wood (Map ).
Our facilities include:
Five All-Weather courts, two of which are floodlit
Mini-tennis equipment for the very young
Well appointed club house with changing rooms, showers, excellent kitchen facilities and a pleasant bar
The club has around 150 senior, junior and associate members. In addition a large number of early stage tennis youngsters come to the club for starter and mini-tennis sessions. The club has a full-time professional tennis coach, who caters for all standards and tennis interests, including individual and group coaching.
Club Play takes place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons throughout the year and also on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. There is a mid-week section which meets for social tennis on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. Junior Club sessions are supervised by the Club Coach on Tuesdays after school during late spring, summer and early autumn. Balls are provided for club play.
During the Winter months floodlit play takes place on most mid-week evenings, with groups arranged for singles leagues, ladies play and improver sessions. The floodlights are also used by the club coach for junior and adult groups.
Over 20 teams are fielded by Knoll LTC in Kent, North Kent and National Leagues, catering for junior, adult and veteran players. The club has an excellent reputation for highly competitive and hospitable match play throughout Kent.
Club tournaments, American tournaments and social events are held throughout the year.
A range of subscriptions are available to meet most needs.
